Trans Gulf recently hosted a Supply Chain Networking event at a hotel in Dubai. The event comprised 150 company representatives from both Al Naboodah Group Enterprises (ANGE) and its supply chain.

The evening kicked off with a presentation on Trans Gulf (TG) by general manager Stuart McGregor. He spoke on areas where the supply chain is required to engage and support the TG business, followed by a report on ANGE Sustainability.

This was followed by a presentation on ANGE Group Supply Chain by the Supply Chain manager Adam Fleming, as well as supplier presentations from SMKA, Schneider, and NAFFCO. The event served to keep attendees up-to-date on the most recent developments and strategy of Trans Gulf, and to build relationships between ANGE staff and its key partners.


On the event sidelines, McGregor said: “We gathered around 100 of our supply chain together for the event, and the response to the evening was overwhelmingly positive. We received a lot of positive feedback. The general consensus was that no other MEP contractor had taken this level of initiative to bring together suppliers and build relationships.”

The presentations discussed how Trans Gulf was standardising and streamlining its procurement process, sharing the supply chain across all of its divisions in order to improve efficiency and simplify the process for both the company and its suppliers. The objectives were to identify key areas of common spend across the group in order to manage strategic spend, and identify areas of specific spend related to market sector or projects in order to optimise project spend.

The presentations also highlighted the importance of establishing a two-way trust through partnerships with Trans Gulf’s supply chain, and the maximisation of opportunities for supply chain partners across the entire group through the development of managed, long term business-to-business relationships, creating added value for all.

“Without these close relationships with our suppliers, Trans Gulf could not function, so we wanted to emphasise that our suppliers were as much a part of Trans Gulf’s story as we are,” continued McGregor.

The event also served to highlight Trans Gulf’s drive towards more sustainable solutions, through policies such as their Supply Chain Code of Conduct, and their Sustainable Supplier Charter, encouraging sustainable practices not just within the company but with their business partners as well.

Following the conclusion of the presentations, dinner was served to the guests.
