Microtunnelling & Directional Drilling - case studies
Al Naboodah Construction Group's fleet of modern microtunnelling and directional drilling equipment is one of the most extensive in the Middle East and is capable of driving tunnels up to 3.6 metres in diameter and drilling for sleeves up to 1.2 metres in diameter. To date over 78 kilometres of utility crossings under runways, taxiways, highways and the seabed have been installed using these specialist techniques.
On the Palm Jumeirah, two subsea service tunnels both three meters in diameter and 750 meters long were designed and constructed for carrying high voltage cables, together with the drilling and installation of multiple service crossings using large diameters, heavy duty sleeves.
