The original Dubai Ring Road was designed to alleviate traffic congestion on Sheikh
Zayed Road, providing an alternative route for travel between Sharjah and the Jebel
Ali Free Zone.
Al Naboodah Construction Group was awarded the first of the strategic contracts
for this project, undertaking major earthworks, which included the removal and treatment
of contaminated material, crushed wetmix and asphalt, primary services infrastructure
and the construction of two post-tensioned overbridges.
The finished pavement works achieved an International Roughness Index (IRI) Value
of significantly less than 0.9 and has set the bench mark for all our future asphalt
works.
