In conjunction with the ongoing works for the first runway and taxiways, the construction of apron works involved the pouring of over 300,000m³ of Pavement Quality concrete to provide 24 cargo and 14 passenger aircraft stands.
To link the new apron works to the runway, new taxiways were constructed along with a perimeter GSE, security road and a GSE vehicular tunnel. High mast lighting, a mains power supply and sub-stations, a communications network, drainage, water and firefighting installations were also constructed, along with an integrated fuel network from all the remote stands to the planned new fuel tank farm. |
