The construction of the Cargo Mega Terminal at the Dubai International Airport was one of the largest multi-disciplinary contracts undertaken by Al Naboodah Construction Group.
Contracted by the Department of Civil Aviation, the project consisted of a vast and complex civil structure with a total floor area of 180,000 m2 and included;
- the construction of the Cargo Mega Terminal building with space for a pallet and container handling system (PCHS), automated
storage and retrieval system (ASRS), cargo handling areas, special cargo rooms and various office spaces arranged over
several levels
- a building of approximately 270 metres by 140 metres complete with a combined multi-storey car park with agents’ facilities,
as well as an elevated 60 metre long pedestrian bridge
- seven stories of offices
- two stories for cargo handling area.
